This is our favorite restaurant.  It is located in Poipu and we usually go for drinks and appetizers at Sunset in the bar where you can also order a full dinner menu.

The Bull Shed

This is right on the water about 4 miles from Kapaa.  Known for steak and its’ fabulous location.  It’s not the most fancy place but it’s reasonably priced.

The Gaylord’s Restaurant serves Sunday brunch, lunch and dinner daily and is an especially popular choice for the holidays.

Gaylord’s menu includes foods and preparations to interest the traditional diner, or the more adventuresome. Gaylord’s is well known for venison, lamb, seafood, pastas and desserts that are worth saving room for.

The Restaurant at The Hanalei Colony Resort

We just discovered this restaurant/boutique resort recently.  The food is Mediterranean and AWESOME.  We like to stop by for lunch and happy hour after going to Ke’e beach.  It’s past the Princeville Resort and just before you get to the end of the road.  The humus is REALLY good.

Papaya’s Natural Foods & Cafe

Natural foods market with over 300 bulk items. Refrigerated and frozen vitamins, health and beauty products, salad bar and sandwiches, personal shopping. Cafe and catering and box lunches to to.  Papaya’s also carries specialty products and baked goods to fit all dietary needs and occasions with two locations in: Kapa’a (808) 823-0190 and Hanalei (808) 826-0089.

Roy’s Poipu Bar & Grill

Located in the Poipu Shopping Village, Roy’s Poipu Bar & Grill is the Kauai outpost of Hawaii’s first James Beard Award winner, acclaimed Chef Roy Yamaguchi. At Roy’s, guests will discover what Yamaguchi has termed “Hawaiian Fusion” cuisine. High end – just like in California.

Shutters has pretty good food and live entertainment nightly, appetizer and light dinner menu.
